This course introduces civilians to the Special Forces methodology of area studies, providing practical tools and frameworks to assess their surroundings. Participants will learn how to collect, analyze, and interpret information about their local environment to enhance situational awareness and preparedness. The course covers threat analysis, terrain evaluation, and key infrastructure identification—all fundamental skills used by military and intelligence professionals to develop an actionable intelligence picture.
By the end of this course, students will have the tools to create a basic area study tailored to their own location, equipping them with a structured approach to understanding local threats, resources, and operational environments.
