DESCRIPTION:This course is for Beginner\, Intermediate\, and Advanced Shooters. \nThe primary focus of this course is the fundamentals of manipulating your carbine\, a good shooting platform\, and zero theory / zeroing your rifle. \nImportant Info \n\nArrive at least 20 minutes prior to the class start time. We reserve the right to turn you away as a no-show if you are late.\nBring a chair\nKeep your firearms in your vehicle until you receive instructions from a Range Safety Officer.\nWear pants with a belt\, sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots\, and clothing that will allow you to be fairly comfortable outdoors\nWear a hat with a bill\nBring a sling\nBring at least 2 mags\nBring plenty of water and snacks – you will be outdoors the entire class\nBring eye and ear protection – we have some to borrow.\nIf the weather is inclement\, we WILL train. If the weather is dangerous\, we will postpone or cancel via email.\nBring 100 rounds of ammo\n\nDirections\n\nFrom I-10\, take exit 232 Pinal Airpark Rd\nEnter the Pinal Airpark and take a RIGHT at the Y in the road\nGo toward Gov Planet\nDrive to the stop sign\, the range is to your front. There are no pre-requisites as we will cover fundamentals\, but you should not be brand new to guns. \nCourse Focus \n\nPistol and rifle fundamentals\nPistol–rifle transitions\nMovement\, cover\, and positional shooting\nThreat assessment and decision-making\nAccountability for every round fired\nWe emphasize why techniques work\, not just how to perform them.\n\nWhat You’ll Train\nPistol \n\nPosture\, grip\, aiming\, trigger management\, and follow-through\nDraws from concealment (where range rules allow)\nReloads and malfunction management\nDisadvantaged shooting\nMovement and use of cover\n\nRifle \n\nZero confirmation and practical accuracy\nSling use and rifle handling for defensive contexts\nPositional shooting (standing\, kneeling\, supported)\nTarget discrimination and accountability\nWorking around cover and obstacles\nIntegration\nPistol–rifle transitions\nManaging distance and problem-solving under pressure\nContext-driven decision making (not “shoot everything” drills)\n\nImportant Info \n\nPlease arrive at least 20 minutes before the class starts. If you are late\, we reserve the right to turn you away as a no-show.\nBring a camp chair or stool.\nBring note taking materials.\nYou will need up to 300 rounds of FMJ ammo per gun.\nKeep your firearms in your vehicle until you receive instructions from a Range Safety Officer.\nWear pants with a belt\, sturdy athletic shoes or boots\, and clothing that will allow you to be reasonably comfortable outdoors. Wear a hat with a bill. You are going to get dirty.\nBring plenty of water and snacks – you will be outdoors all day.\nBring a holster and mag carriers. If you want to run your everyday carry rig\, do it. If you want to run your battle belt\, do it. Minimum: Holster and 3 mags. Sling for rifle and at least 3 mags.\nIf the weather is inclement\, we WILL train. If the weather is dangerous\, we delay.
