DESCRIPTION:Course Description:\nThis 3-day field course teaches the core skills required to plan\, move\, and operate as a small team on foot in austere environments. Focused on situational awareness\, team coordination\, and tactical skills\, the course combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on application in interesting Arizona terrain.\n\nTopics include:\n\n\nPatrol formations and movement techniques\n\n\nTeam roles and responsibilities\n\n\nSecurity halts\, observation techniques\, and terrain awareness\n\n\nCamouflage\, concealment\, and light/noise discipline\n\n\nReactions to contact (immediate action drills)\n\n\nPatrol planning\, briefings\, and debriefs\n\n\nLoad setup for sustained dismounted operations\n\n\nAdditional Notes:\n\n\nPacking list will be provided shortly after registration.\n\n\nStudents must have an A2-style birdcage flash hider for BFA compatibility.\n\nYou will come to Tucson and we will get you to the destination location.\n\nNo prior tactical experience required—just a baseline of physical readiness and a willingness to learn. The course includes meals and support\, but bring your own licky chewies. If you have special dietary needs\, you will be required to meet those yourself. We’re eating MREs.

SUMMARY:Defensive Carbine
DESCRIPTION:This course is intended to introduce a broad range of defensive carbine concepts. We will focus on carbine manipulations\, fundamentals review\, peripheral awareness\, building and maintaining a stable shooting platform\, ready positions and presentation\, recoil management\, communication\, movement\, and use of cover. Additional topics include positional shooting\, transitions\, malfunction mitigation\, keeping the gun running\, multiple target management\, and problem-solving with a rifle in a defensive context. As time allows\, we will layer these skills under increasing cognitive and physical demand. \nPre-requisite: WLTAC Gray ChipIf you do not have one and feel this course is appropriate for your background\, call us at 520-305-9181. \nImportant Info \nPlease arrive at least 20 minutes before the class start time. If you are late\, we reserve the right to turn you away as a no-show.Bring a camp chair or stool.You will need up to 300 rounds of FMJ ammunition.Keep your firearms secured in your vehicle until you receive instructions from a Range Safety Officer.Wear pants with a belt\, sturdy athletic shoes or boots\, and clothing suitable for outdoor training. A hat with a bill is strongly recommended. You will get dirty.Bring plenty of water and snacks. You will be outdoors all day.Bring your carbine\, sling\, and magazine carriers. Run your everyday setup or your duty or battle belt if you prefer. Minimum: carbine\, sling\, and 3 magazines.If the weather is inclement\, we will train. We reserve the right to turn you away as a no-show if you are late.\nBring a chair\nKeep your firearms in your vehicle until you receive instructions from a Range Safety Officer.\nWear pants with a belt\, sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots\, and clothing that will allow you to be fairly comfortable outdoors\nWear a hat with a bill\nBring a sling\nBring at least 2 mags\nBring plenty of water and snacks – you will be outdoors the entire class\nBring eye and ear protection – we have some to borrow.\nIf the weather is inclement\, we WILL train. If the weather is dangerous\, we will postpone or cancel via email.\nBring 100 rounds of ammo\n\nDirections\n\nFrom I-10\, take exit 232 Pinal Airpark Rd\nEnter the Pinal Airpark and take a RIGHT at the Y in the road\nGo toward Gov Planet\nDrive to the stop sign\, the range is to your front. Drive across the gravel. You will see a red range flag\n\nWho can take this course: Anyone with a semiautomatic rifle.
